The Spanglish Girl / La Chica Espanglish is a story about an English girl who spends her summer holidays visiting her Spanish grandparents in a small village in Spain during her summer holidays. Along the way, she makes friends but also has a little trouble with them. They laugh at her for speaking differently but they eventually make up and learn from one another.
The book teaches children that it's ok to be different and come from a different background, as well as reinforcing the need to be kind and help one another.
The full story is told in both English and Spanish and it's a great way for children to pick up some Spanish while learning about kindness.
