Returns & Your Right to Cancel

Little Linguist Returns Policy

We hope that you'll love your Little Linguist order, but if not, you can return it to us within 14 days for a full refund. If you’d like to make a return, the first thing to do is to contact us.

Our returns policy gives you the right to cancel your purchase at any point from when you order until 14 days after receiving your delivery. You’re entitled to a full refund if you request it in writing within 14 days of receiving your item. This excludes items that have been made for you, such as our personalised welcome poster or items ordered specially for you (such products are clearly indicated as 'special order' items). In addition, if you are a school or a business ordering titles in bulk (more than 5 copies of the same item), this is deemed as a special order and those items will be non-returnable. If you are unsure as to whether the product will suit your requirements, please contact us for advice or order a single copy in the first instance. 

Duty of Care: It's important that you take care that your items are returned in perfect condition, so please ensure that suitable packaging is used to protect your items in the post. In most cases, we recommend that you reuse the packaging that you received your order in, but should you use different packaging, please make sure that it offers adequate protection so that books do not get bent etc.  All items returned must be unused and returned their original packaging. Multimedia items (CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs etc.) cannot be returned unless they were factory-sealed and the seal is still intact.

Please include a copy of your receipt inside the package, or at the very least a note that includes your name and order number.

You can return the item via the postal service or a courier of your choice, or if you're in the UK, we can arrange for your package to be collected by our couriers. There will be a charge for this service. Contact us for further details. If you use the postal service, we recommend you obtain proof of posting (free of charge) or use a service that provides adequate insurance for the value of the goods you are returning.

Your refund will be issued within 14 days of you cancelling the order, provided we have received your item and it is returned in its original condition.

If you’re returning goods from outside the UK, you will need to indicate that your parcel is a ‘Return’ to the UK, and not an import. If your documentation is completed incorrectly and duty is subsequently charged to Little Linguist, the sum will be deducted from your final refund or, if the customs charges exceed the original order value, we will refuse the delivery.

Informing Us That You Wish to Cancel

It is very important that you read and understand our Returns Policy when exercising your right to cancel. Our Returns policy can be found at the top of this page.

Once we have been informed that you wish to exercise your Right to Cancel, you then have 14 days to return the goods back to us.

When we have received the returned goods we will refund within 14 days. Please note that where an order has been fulfilled and is already in transit to the recipient, we cannot process a refund until we receive the goods back to our warehouse.

Bullet Star   Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/E you have the right to cancel your contract with Little Linguist Ltd within 14 days without giving any reason for your cancellation.
Bullet Star   The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire (or a third party other than the carrier, as indicated by you acquires) physical possession of the goods.
Bullet Star   To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us, Little Linguist Ltd, of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g a letter, fax or email).

Note: To meet the cancellation deadline it is sufficient for you to send you communication concerning your exercise to the right of cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects Of Cancellation

Bullet Star   If you decide to cancel your contract with Little Linguist Ltd, we will reimburse you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
Bullet Star   We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by the customer. Any sealed or boxed items can be classed as consumed if returned to us with the seal removed or the box opened. Please read our "Duty Of Care Guidelines" contained within our Returns Policy, above.
Bullet Star  

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay and not later than:

(a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or
(b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or
(c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel your contract.

Bullet Star   We will make the reimbursement using the same method of payment used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
Bullet Star   We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
Bullet Star   The customer shall send back the goods without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which the cancellation request was communicated to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.
Bullet Star   The customer will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
Bullet Star   The customer is only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. Removing any seals or packaging from factory-sealed goods constitutes excessive handling.
