The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe in French

Four children are evacuated to a country home where they discover a wardrobe that is a doorway to the mysterious land of Narnia.

Le Lion, La Sorcière Blanche et L'Armoire Magique is intended for native French readers and would suit a child aged 9+ if they were fluent in French.

Not being a French speaker myself but wanting to help my sons (aged 9 and 11) with their learning, I wanted to read them a story that they already knew well in English so that they could follow the story and gradually get a feel for the language. This book is proving invaluable, (a) because it is in simple French, (b) because it is a very well-known story and thus easy to follow, and (c) because there is a real need for informal secondary sources for learning French as a second language. Children learning English as a second language have loads of stuff to watch and listen to--all the Disney films, for instance--and it is well known that children of other languages learn English better than our children learn their languages. What I would really like is a set of audio tapes of stories in French....
