PENpal is the newest version of Talking PEN. Easier to use, rechargeable and with 4GB of memory, it replaces the earlier model, RecorderPEN, and works in the same way to bring sound to paper. When the PEN touches a Talking Pen book or poster that is pen-enabled (available separately), it speaks.
Content for the Talking PEN is now FREE. Simply use the included FREElink software to access and download numerous audio files via your computer (PC or Mac). These can be used in conjunction with any Talking Pen story book (available separately), to bring the story to life.
The PENpal doesn't just play back pre-recorded sound. Teachers and parents can use the pen to record themselves, or let children record their own voices, and listen to recordings instantly. Simply switch to the recording function, touch a soundspot and record and save. This is a fantastic way to improve speaking, listening and storytelling skills.
This extremely exciting new resource can be used in countless ways. It's fantastic for EAL: parents can record in their own language for children, and teachers can customise their resources to make them fully inclusive.
PENpal is rechargeable and can hold up to 4GB worth of audio files. It comes with 2 AAA rechargeable batteries and a USB cable. It is charged through the USB cable and can run on normal AAA batteries as well. It has a warranty of 12 months.
