Written by Rachel Redfearn of Wakefield Local Authority, La Jolie Ronde Scheme of Work for French is a comprehensive Primary French scheme of work that has been written in accordance with the Key Stage 2 Framework for Modern Foreign Languages.

This scheme is ideal for non-specialists and includes very detailed lesson notes that have been written to support teachers with no previous experience of teaching foreign languages. More experienced teachers can use these as a guide only and adapt them to suit themselves.

La Jolie Ronde Scheme of Work for French - Years 3 & 4 has been developed for 7 - 9 year olds who are learning French for the first time, and comprises two years' worth of lesson plans, including special lessons for Christmas and Easter. Each lesson is divided into 4 x 15-minute sessions, giving schools flexibility on how to deliver them.

• A CD-Rom of resources with over 135 files to support lessons (flash cards, texts of stories and poems, transcripts of songs, PowerPoint presentations)

La Jolie Ronde Scheme of Work for French - Years 3 & 4 is intended for use with KS2, years 3 and 4 (age 7 - 9) in their first and second years of learning French, but could also be adapted for use with older beginners if necessary. Full teaching notes are provided and this is a suitable resource for a non-specialist teacher.
