Jaha and Jamil Went Down the Hill is unique look at Africa that preserves all the fun of the original Mother Goose nursery rhymes while creating a modern treasury of rhythm and rhyme.
The verses featured in the book are those that Mother Goose might have written, had she visited Africa. The rhymes, with which most children will be familiar, contain alternative lyrics that teach about a few of the wonderful, colourful and diverse aspects of African life, both modern and traditional. There are 50 rhymes featured, including Jack & Jill, Mary Had a Little Lamb, London Bridge, Polly Put the Kettle On, Little Bo Peep, Hey Diddle Diddle and Pop Goes the Weasel.
Jaha and Jamil Went Down the Hill is a picture book aimed at ages 3 - 7. It is great for developing intercultural understanding.
