French edition of The Complete Book of Farmyard Tales

This gorgeous padded hardback book features all twenty of the stories in the "Contes de la Ferme" (Farmyard Tales) collection.

Developed with early-readers in mind, the dual-level text allows the parent to read one (more complicated) line and the child to read the more simple text on the same page.

The stories are:

  • Petit cochon est coincé
    (Pig gets stuck)
  • Le vilain mouton
    (The naughty sheep)
  • Le feu à la grange
    (Barn on fire)
  • Le tracteur dégringole
    (Runaway tractor)
  • Petit cochon s'est perdu
    (Pig gets lost)
  • L'âne gourmand
    (The hungry donkey)
  • Le secret de l'épouvantail
    (Scarecrow's secret)
  • Un tracteur en difficulté
    (Tractor in trouble)
  • Le chien tout-fou
    (Silly Sheepdog)
  • Le chaton a disparu
    (Kitten's day out)
  • Le nouveau poney
    (The new pony)
  • La chèvre grognon
    (The grumpy goat)
  • La tempête de neige
    (The snow storm)
  • Une visite surprise
    (Suprise visitors)
  • Le jour du marché
    (Market day)
  • Une nuit sous la tente
    (Camping out)
  • Le vieux train à vapeur
    (The old steam train)
  • Princesse sauve le train
    (Princesse [Dolly] and the train)
  • Caramel prend le train
    (Caramel's [Rusty's] train ride)
  • Bouclette arrête le train
    (Bouclette [Wooly] stops the train)

Children will love looking through each double page spread in search of the well-renowned 'yellow duck' ™.

Le Grand Livre des Contes de la Ferme is written entirely in French with no English translation or pronunciation guide as it is intended for native users. The language is fairly simple as it is aimed at young children.

Padded Hardcover, 320pp, 220 x 220mm

This book is full of the well known farmyard tales stories which seem to appeal to all young children. The text is good for a french learner to read as there are two different levels of text. This means you can start by reading just the simple sentence at the top and as your french, or your child's, improves enough you can read the more complicated text at the bottom. This means the book will grow with your own and your child's ability. Suitable to be read to children or read by older children and would be equally enjoyed by fluent french readers or fluent french speakers learning to read. Quite a chunky book but it is called 'Le Grand Livre'!
