Singing songs is a fun way of helping children to develop an enthusiasm for French. The 20 songs in J'aime Chanter! are set to familiar tunes, such as "London's Burning", "Ten Green Bottles" & Frère Jacques" etc., so you and the children can concentrate on the words, without having to learn new tunes.

The songs introduce and reinforce vocabulary for greetings, colours, family, clothes, food, numbers and many more frequently taught topics. They are ideal for use with children through all stages of their primary education and can also be used effectively with preschool children.

The CD contains recordings of all the songs, sung by native French speakers, as well as instrumental versions. The accompanying book contains words to all the songs, together with English translations, as well as attractive photocopiable flashcards and colouring sheets, to help children understand the content of the songs.

Guidance for Use

J'aime Chanter! has been developed for use with 5–7 year olds (but can also be used with younger and older children) who are beginners to the French language. CDs is included so no music reading is required.

Full teaching notes are provided and this is a suitable resource for a non-specialist teacher.
