Sound Beginnings

Overview

Develop your child's natural gift for languages! Research has shown that infants who are routinely exposed to sounds from foreign languages during the first year develop tonal memories that enhance their ability to learn multiple languages. Simply by listening, neural pathways are activated and sound recognition skills are increased, making it easier for your child to become bilingual, trilingual or even a polyglot (a speaker of many languages)!

Developed by a team of linguistic and music specialists, this series contains the basic sounds from eight languages. Sound Beginnings® is a 2-CD set that provides 15-minute segments of Spanish, French, German, Russian, Hebrew, Japanese, English, and Chinese. A motherly voice recites the alphabet, nursery rhymes, numbers and more to your little one, accompanied by traditional folk melodies and lullabies unique to each culture.

Guidance for Use

This programme is intended for babies and toddlers from birth to preschool. It is not a specific language-learning tool but has been developed to introduce infants to the sounds of other languages.

The CD Professor Parrot is very good for car journeys and I will be interested to see the outcome of listening to that in years to come
